Liviu Matei

Dr Liviu Matei is the Head of the King’s School of Education, Communication & Society.
Prior to joining ECS in March 2022, he was Professor of Higher Education Policy at the Central European University (CEU), where he directed the Yehuda Elkana Center for Higher Education, a collaborative academic initiative promoting applied policy research and professional training in higher education.
Dr Matei established the European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities and the Global Teaching Fellowship Programme; and founded the Global Observatory on Academic Freedom, which is supported by the Open Society University Network, and the Open Society Research Platform, in 2021. He served on the Steering Committee of CIVICA – The European University of Social Sciences.

Aggelos Kavasakalis is an Associate Professor at the University of Patras. His research focuses on the analysis of lifelong learning policies that are produced in a highly internationalized environment and transferred to different levels (international, European, national, and intranational).
Chrissi Nerantzi

Chrissi Nerantzi is a Professor in Creative and Open Education in the School of Education, the Director of the Imaginative Curriculum Centre for Research and Scholarship and a Senior Lead of the Knowledge Equity Network at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
Charalampos M. Liapis

Charalampos M. Liapis is a researcher in artificial intelligence at the Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus” (CTI) and the Hellenic Open University. His research spans machine learning, natural language processing, and the philosophy and ethics of AI. He works at the intersection of AI and philosophy, with interests including language modeling, perception, semantic representation, sentiment analysis, time series, value alignment, and emergence. He has published internationally.

Andreas Vasilopoulos

Andreas Vasilopoulos is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Policy and Planning (TEPEKE) at the University of Patras, and is a member of the HEPNET research group. His main research interests are European policies for higher education, with a particular focus on internationalisation and mobility.
Zoe Gavriilidou

Zoe Gavriilidou is Professor of Linguistics at Democritus University of Thrace, as well as being a member of the Evaluation and Accreditation Council of the Hellenic Accreditation System (ΗΑΗΕ). She specialises in quality assurance and literacy in artificial intelligence for education.
Κostas A. Lavdas

Κostas A. Lavdas is Professor and Chair of the Department of International and European Studies at Panteion University. His previous roles include holding the “Konstantinos Karamanlis” Chair in Greek and European Studies at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Boston and serving as a Senior Research Fellow at the London School of Economics.

Georgios Stamelos

George Stamelos is a professor at the Department of Education and Social Work, University of Patras. His fields of interest are: (Higher) Education Policy, European (Higher) Education Policy, Teacher Education. He is the coordinator of the Inter-university Interdepartmental Network “Higher Education Policy (HepNet)” (http://hepnet.upatras.gr), director of the Master’s Degree “Higher Education Policy: theory and practice (MaHep)” (https://mahep.upatras.gr) and of the Laboratory “Education Policy, Economy and Lifelong Learning”. He is editor of the journal Academia (http://academia.lis.upatras.gr). He has published articles in Greek, English, French and Spanish.
Saeed Paivandi

Saeed Paivandi is currently working as a full Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Lorraine, Nancy, France since 2011(LISEC Reseauch Center) and asscociated member of Laboratory of Educational Policy, Economy and Lifelong Learning (Patras). Prior to this, he was associated Professor at the University of Paris 8 (1996-2011). He holds Habilitation (HDR), Ph.D. and Master degree in Sociology of Education from University of Paris and Master in Sociology from University of Tehran. His areas of research and specialization are Sociology of Education. Saeed Paivandi has published several articles and books on the learning and teaching in University.
Ana Teixeira

Ana Teixeira holds a PhD in Education from Paris 8 University, where she studied under Professor Bernard Charlot. She is a professor at the Federal University of the Recôncavo of Bahia in Brazil. She is also a researcher with the Education and Contemporaneity group (UFS/CNPQ) and a member of the International Network on the Relationship to Knowledge (RIRSA). Her research interests include educational transitions, secondary and higher education, the relationship to knowledge, higher education policies and university affiliation.
Soledad Vercellinο

Soledad Vercellinο. PhD in Education. Research Professor at the National University of Río Negro and the National University of Comahue in Argentina.
She has taught graduate-level courses at Argentine universities (UNLP, UNC and UNaM) and abroad (University of Manizales, Colombia). She is also a visiting professor at the Federal University of Pernambuco.
